Toggle clamp spindle assemblies are used to provide non-marking, secure clamping / holding of a workpiece. They are attached to toggle clamps through their clamping arms. These spindle assemblies have steel construction and are available in flat, rounded & swivel foot style neoprene tips. Flat tip bonded neoprene spindles ensure optimal functionality and performance during welding, drilling and milling operations in the aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries. They have imperial threadings for quick fastening onto clamping bars of manual clamps. These units have oil resistant, LABS (silicone) free construction with a neoprene tip for chemical stability & operational flexibility in temperatures ranging from -20 to 100 degrees C. The neoprene tips further prevent marring of work surfaces. The neoprene rubber tips have hardness of 80 Shore A that prevents damage caused by abrasion / twisting / flexing of the workpiece. They are supplied with jam nuts to accommodate materials of varying thicknesses by allowing adjustments between clamping distance. Destaco 267208 flat tip bonded neoprene spindle has metallic body with 5/8-11 threading and a black coloured tip of 1.38 inch cap width. The spindle has a length of 5 inches for adjusting according to the workpiece. Raptor Supplies offers this spindle in variants having lengths ranging from 1 to 5.75 inches.
Destaco 267208 flat tip bonded neoprene spindle is adaptable to applications, such as welding, drilling and milling in aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries. It is ideally used with a manual clamp for holding workpieces.
A. Yes, Raptor Supplies also offers Destaco metric threaded neoprene spindles, swivel foot spindles, round bonded spindles and hex head spindles.
A. The flat tip bonded spindles are used to reduce marking on fragile or polished surfaces while swivel foot spindles are used where a workpiece with a large area needs to be clamped.
A. The term "holding force or capacity" indicates the ideal strength of the clamp for holding down the equipment, workpieces or sheet metal on the assembly line or during other industrial applications. The holding force is measured during the clamp manufacturing process, so does not provide a practical measure of the capacity of the clamp. Clamping force or exerting force denotes the actual force exerted by the clamp onto the workpieces for holding them. The clamping force is generally lesser than the holding capacity, due to several factors, such as the position of spindle in the clamping bar and the opposing force applied on the clamp.
A. A coupling grease, such as Mobil XTC is recommended for use with the brand's mechanical clamps.
A. All Destaco carbon steel clamps are zinc plated to withstand & minimise wear & tear due to harsh industrial environments. Destaco also supplies stainless steel clamps for applications requiring clamping in outdoor conditions.
A. No, Destaco clamps are load-rated only for clamping applications. They are not designed for hoisting or lifting applications.
