Toggle clamp spindle assemblies are ideal for non-marking, secure clamping / holding of a workpiece. They are attached to clamping arms of toggle clamps. These spindle assemblies are made of steel and are available in flat, rounded & swivel foot style neoprene tips. Flat tip bonded neoprene spindles provide optimal functionality and performance during welding, drilling and milling operations in aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries. They feature imperial threadings for quick fastening on clamping bars of manual clamps. These spindles have oil resistant, LABS (silicone) free construction with a neoprene tip for chemical stability & operatiblity in temperatures ranging from -20 to 100 degrees C while ensuring maximum clamping force. The neoprene tips further prevent marring of work surfaces caused due to high clamping force. The neoprene rubber tips have a hardness of 80 Shore A to prevent abrasion / twisting / flexing related damages. They are supplied with jam nuts to adjust the spindle according to workpieces of varying thicknesses. Destaco 247208 flat tip bonded neoprene spindle has metallic body with 1/2-13 threading and a neoprene tip of 1.18 inch cap width. The spindle is 3.87 inches in length for adjustment according to the workpiece. Raptor Supplies offers this spindle in variants having lengths ranging from 1 to 5.75 inches.
Destaco 247208 flat tip bonded neoprene spindle is suitable for various applications, such as welding, drilling and milling operations in aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries. It is ideally used with a manual clamp for holding down workpieces.
A. Raptor Supplies can deliver a similar spindle having 5/8-11 imperial threadings. We also offer Destaco metric threaded neoprene spindles, swivel foot spindles, round bonded spindles and hex head spindles.
A. The flat tip bonded spindles are used to reduce marking on fragile or polished surfaces while swivel foot spindles are used where a workpiece with a large area needs to be clamped.
A. The term "holding force or capacity" indicates the ideal strength of the clamp for holding down the equipment, workpieces or sheet metal on the assembly line or during other industrial applications. The holding force is measured during the clamp manufacturing process, so does not provide a practical measure of the capacity of the clamp. Clamping force or exerting force denotes the actual force exerted by the clamp on the workpieces for holding them. The clamping force is generally lesser than the holding capacity, due to several factors, such as the position of spindle in the clamping bar and the opposing force applied on the clamp.
A. A coupling grease, such as Mobil XTC is recommended for use with the brand's mechanical clamps.
A. No, Destaco clamps are load-rated only for clamping applications. They are not designed for hoisting or lifting applications.
