Altronix NetWay8V midspan PoE injector is designed to provide power & ethernet to connected PoE compliant devices (cameras / edge devices) in offices, research facilities and manufacturing plants. This midspan injector can power connected cameras / devices from a mqximum distance of 100 metres from the unit. Additionally, repeater module can be connected to this midspan injector to further extend the distance of power & data transmission by an additional 100 metres in large scale industrial & research facilities. This midspan injector can support upto 6 repeater modules for extending the data & power transmission by 600 metres. Altronix NetWay8V midspan injector features eight dedicated ports for connecting multiple devices (cameras / edge devices) over ethernet at 10 / 100 Mbps speed. It features built in short circuit protection for enabling automatic detection & protection of non-PoE edge devices / cameras. Altronix midspan PoE injector's plug & play installation ensures quick set up. It have port status indicating LEDs to monitor real time connection status. It features a built in manual reset & master power disconnect circuit breaker to ensure device safety. Installation:

• Altronix NetWay8V midspan injector can be mounted on a rack or a shelf using mounting brackets.
• Illuminated master power disconnect circuit breaker should be in OFF position and the grounded AC line cord should be plugged in.
• Structured cables from the input port should be connected to the ethernet switch.
• Structured cables from the output port should be connected to the PoE compliant edge devices / cameras.
• Master power disconnect circuit breaker should be switched ON.

Q. How does PoE midspan injector work?

A. Using PoE injectors, user can transmit data and power through the ethernet cable between the injector & the IP camera at the same time. The data gets transmitted from the switch into the injector, thereby feeding it to the IP camera through the ethernet cable.

Q. What is the difference between a splitter & a midspan injector?

A. The difference lies in the fact that PoE injector supplies power to the PoE equipment that receives information / data from existing non-PoE switches. Whereas a splitter splits the power from the data & feeds it to a separate input of a non-PoE compliant device.
