Altronix NetWay16V midspan injector is suitable for providing power & ethernet to connected PoE compliant devices (cameras / edge devices). This midspan injector features 16 output ports that can power 16 different cameras / devices from a maximum distance of 100 metres from the unit. Additionally, repeater modules can be used to further extend the distance in large scale industrial & research facilities. Altronix NetWay16V midspan injector features sixteen dedicated ports for connecting multiple devices (cameras / edge devices) over ethernet at 10 / 100 Mbps speed. It's built in short circuit protection ensures extended life and automatic detection & protection of non-PoE edge devices / cameras. Altronix midspan injector features plug & play style installation for ease of operation and have port status indicating LEDs for monitoring real time connection status. It has a built in manual reset & master power disconnect circuit breaker to ensure device safety. Altronix NetWay16V midspan injector protects the connected devices / cameras from faulty currents due to its built in short circuit protection feature. Its rack mount chassis design enables easy & secure installation on open racks. This midspan injector is capable of supporting PTZ IP and non-PoE compliant fixed cameras using NetWay1512 external adapter.
Altronix NetWay16V midspan injector is designed to provide power & ethernet connection to PoE compliant devices (cameras / edge devices) in offices, research facilities and manufacturing plants.
A. Using PoE injectors, user transmits data and power through the ethernet cable between the injector & the IP camera at the same time. The data gets transmitted from the switch into the injector, thereby feeding it to the IP camera through the ethernet cable.
A. Yes, apart from this midspan PoE injector, Altronix also offers midspan injectors in various port configurations on Raptor Supplies.
A. The difference lies in the fact that PoE injector supplies power to the PoE equipment that receives information / data from existing non-PoE switches. Whereas a splitter splits the power from the data & feeds it to a separate input of a non-PoE compliant device.
A. Power over Ethernet (PoE) passes through switches that can operate both ways, as a Powered Device (PD) or a Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE). This means that the switch can be powered by PoE while providing power, simultaneously.
A. It depends on the category of the cable used. Cables, such as CAT5E supports PoE on all voltages. CAT5 supports lower voltages.
A. Power over Ethernet (PoE) allows CAT5 patch leads to provide access to electric power, as well as data connection to IP cameras, routers and switches.
A. PoE is injected into a cable between 44 & 57 VDC.
A. PoE and LAN are two different types of network connections. Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology is used to implement wired Ethernet local area network (LAN).
