Vertical hold down clamps use a straight handle that is perpendicularly oriented to the base (when in locked position) for pushing the clamping arms or the attached spindles against workpieces. These manual clamps are suitable for applications requiring frequent clamping / detaching of workpieces throughout the operations. Destaco 2002 Series clamps have hardened bushings at key pivot points and steel construction for structural strength & durability. They feature a large hand clearance and near vertical clamping contact for increased safety & secure clamping. These clamps provide a maximum load capacity of 600 lb. Destaco 2002-S207 clamp features an interchangeable bolt / mounting pattern with Destaco 207 Series vertical hold down clamps. It is equipped with a solid clamping arm for attaching spindle assemblies at a fixed location. This clamp has flanged base for mounting on a flat surface / workpiece. Raptor Supplies deliver this manual clamp in variants having U clamping bar for flexible spindle adjustment; a bolt pattern interchangeable with 202 Series clamps; Toggle Lock Plus mechanism to prevent accidental opening during the operation.
Destaco 2002-S207 vertical hold down clamp is idea for applications, such as welding, woodworking, assembling and fixture checking in aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries.
A. Raptor Supplies offers this manual clamp in U bar style (Destaco 2002-U207) for flexible spindle adjustment. We also offer a similar clamp having a bolt pattern interchangeable with 202 Series clamps (Destaco 2002-S).
A. Vertical hold down clamps are manually operated using vertical handles / levers to move their clamping arms. This handle movement pushes the clamping arm or the attached spindle against the workpiece and prevents it from moving mid-operation, thereby ensuring secure clamping.
A. The difference between a vertical & horizontal toggle clamp lies in the locking position of the clamp handle. A vertical clamp handle is vertically oriented or perpendicular to the base when in a locked position, whereas the horizontal toggle clamp is horizontally oriented or parallel to the base.
A. Many of the Destaco manual clamps come with the Toggle Lock Plus feature to act as a secondary locking mechanism and ensure the over-centre toggle lock condition of the clamps. This mechanism is essential when fixtures of the clamp are in motion, in a vibratory environment or are inverted. It offers an extra level of safety for the user and the workpiece. Raptor Supplies offers a similar clamp (Destaco 2002-SR207) having Toggle Lock Plus mechanism to prevent accidental opening during the operation.
A. Clamping force or exerting force refers to the actual force that the clamp exerts onto the workpiece for holding it. The holding force or capacity provides a measure of ideal strength of the clamp, measured during the manufacturing process. The clamping force is generally lesser than the holding capacity, depending upon several factors like position of spindles in clamping bars and opposing force applied on the clamp.
A. Yes, Destaco carbon steel clamps are zinc plated to withstand & minimise wear & tear due to harsh industrial environments. Destaco also supplies stainless steel clamps for applications requiring clamping in outdoor conditions.
A. Destaco can supply customised versions of clamps upon request. The customisations can range from a different colour of handles to the removal of Destaco logo from the clamps.
