Synchronous motors rotate at a constant speed determined by the frequency of the power supply. Induction motors, on the other hand, have a slight slip and do not rotate at the exact synchronous speed.
The main components include the stator (with three sets of windings), rotor, bearings, frame and often a cooling system (fan or fins).
Single-phase motors operate on a single-phase AC power supply and are generally less powerful and efficient than three-phase motors. Three-phase motors are preferred for industrial applications due to their superior performance.
