A. Cutting oil is used in metalworking and machining applications to cool, lubricate and flush away chips from the cutting region. By decreasing wear, the proper cutting oil for the job enhances the surface of the machined metal while also extending the tool life.
A. The key difference is that the cutting fluids can lubricate the interface between the cutting edge of the tool and the chip, whereas lubricant can lubricate between hard materials by decreasing friction between the objects.
A. Cutting oil can be produced using petroleum distillates, water, air, plant oils, animal fats and other basic materials. It may be referred to as cutting fluid, cutting oil, cutting compound, coolant or lubricant, depending on the situation and the kind of metal cutting fluid under consideration.
