REED INSTRUMENTS R9600 Salinity Refractometer, 0 to 28% Range

Reed Instruments R9600 salinity refractometer is suitable for measuring the concentration of dissolved salt in water (with 0 to 28 percent salinity). The device requires only 2 or 3 drops of sample to produce accurate results.

Working Mechanism:

• Position the front end of the refractometer towards the direction of bright light and adjust the eyepiece until the reticule is clearly seen.
• Open the cover plate and clean the surface of the prism with the included cleaning cloth.
• Apply 1 - 2 drops of measuring (saline) solution, close the cover plate and press lightly.
• Note the corresponding scale of the light / dark boundary. The carved line on the left of the scale shows the specific gravity of the sodium chloride liquor.
• Now clean the measured solution off the Prism and Cover Plate with a moist cloth. Allow to air dry before storing.
