Vertical hold down clamps are equipped with straight / T handles that are perpendicularly oriented to the clamp base in the locked position. Users move these handles to push clamping arms and attached spindle assemblies against the workpiece for keeping the workpiece stationary throughout the operation while preventing it from loosening / slipping. These toggle clamps are an ideal choice for operations requiring regular clamping or detaching of the workpiece. Destaco 207 Series vertical hold down clamps are suitable for holding down workpieces against flat surfaces during woodworking, light machining, fixture checking & closure operations. These 207 Series clamps come with the largest selection of arms (open U bar, U bar, long U bar, solid bar & long solid bar) and mounting (flange base, straight base & dual base) options. Destaco 207-TU manual toggle clamp has steel construction for structural integrity and minimising damage / wear due to rough handling & abrasive conditions. It features a U bar to allow spindle adjustment for decreasing downtime and preventing buying a separate clamp to handle workpieces having varying thicknesses. This clamp has a low profile, T shaped handle for providing grip while saving space during installation and operation. It has a flanged base with threaded mounting holes for quick installation on a flat, horizontal surface / workpiece. Raptor Supplies also offers these clamps in variants having stainless steel construction, Toggle lock Plus feature and straight handle configuration for ease of use.
A. Destaco offers long U bar (Destaco 207-TUL) and straight handle (Destaco 207-U) vertical clamps, in addition to this variant. For more variants related to Destaco 207-TU clamp, visit the Destaco 207 Series clamps page on our website.
A. The holding force or the holding capacity depicts the clamp's capability to hold down equipment or sheet metal on assembly lines or during similar manufacturing processes.
A. The difference lies in the orientation of the clamp handle when the clamp is in the locked position. A vertical clamp handle is positioned vertically (perpendicular to the base) when in locked position, while in the case of a horizontal toggle clamp, it is positioned horizontally (parallel to the base).
A. Certain U bar style clamps like Destaco 207-TU feature a spindle that is manually operated using a vertical handle / lever. This handle movement pushes the spindle against the workpiece and prevents it from moving mid operation, thereby ensuring secure clamping.
A. Whenever you're dealing with the brand's mechanical clamps, it is recommended to use a coupling grease like Mobil XTC.
A. Yes, carbon steel clamps from Destaco are zinc plated for withstanding & minimising wear against harsh industrial environments. For applications that require clamping in outdoor conditions, stainless steel variants are also available.
