Product Details:

Destaco 2010-S vertical hold down clamp offers a stationary alternative to removable C clamps or spring clamps when securing materials to a work surface. This manual clamp holds workpieces in place using a lever handle that is pushed to the upright position when the clamp is engaged. The lever handle engages & releases the clamping head, to hold a workpiece on a worktable. It applies downward clamping force by increasing the applied load via toggle mechanisms and is ideal for fixture checking, assembling / testing, woodworking and light machining in the aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries. This hold down toggle clamp features a low profile design for tight spaces and offers the flexibility to position the base, clamp arm & handle by welding them in the desired position. It comprises accurately machined components having hardened & ground pivot pins & bushings. This clamp can be used with a neoprene spindle for maximum holding force and ergonomic handle grip. Destaco 2010-S vertical hold down clamp features a flanged base with threaded holes for ease of installation. It is made of steel / stainless steel for resisting corrosion on exposed surfaces and is capable of withstanding loads up to 1400 lb. This clamp offers great hand clearance and can exhibit a maximum clamp bar opening angle of 78 degrees.

Uses:

Destaco 2010-S vertical hold down clamp is used for assembly, light duty clamping and woodworking applications in the aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries.

Features:

  • Destaco 2010-S vertical hold down clamp features steel construction for structural rigidity & corrosion resistance.
  • This vertical hold down clamp has large hand clearance for added safety.
  • Destaco 2010-S vertical hold down clamp comes equipped with an ergonomic grip for operator comfort.
  • This hold down clamp is compatible with M8 or 5/16 spindle accessories.
  • It is capable of holding loads up to 1400 lb.
  • Destaco 2010-S vertical hold down clamp is equipped with a flanged base having threaded holes for quick & secure mounting.

Compatible Accessories:

  • Destaco 240208-M: These flat tip bonded neoprene spindles are used with Destaco 2010-S vertical hold down clamp to provide a cushion between the clamp & clamped items, thereby securing material to work surfaces in milling, drilling and welding applications. These flat tip bonded neoprene spindles can be adjusted for accommodating materials of varying thicknesses and can also be replaced for extending the service life of toggle clamps by reducing the risk of marring when rubber stoppers start to wear away.

Standards and Approvals:

  • Destaco 2010-S vertical hold down clamp conforms to international standards like ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 9001:2015 for ensuring environmental health & safety, and superior performance of the clamp.

  • Destaco 2010-S vertical hold down clamp features a flanged base with threaded holes for easy and secure installation.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. What is a vertical hold down clamp?

A. Destaco vertical hold down clamps are designed for holding a workpiece stationary against a flat surface / workbench for various industrial applications like woodworking & metalworking.

Q. How does a vertical hold down toggle clamp work?

A. The toggle clamp actuates against the workpiece and compresses or stretches the equipped linkages to keep the workpiece in a stationary position.

Q. What does holding capacity mean in terms of clamps?

A. The holding force or holding capacity signifies the clamp's capability to hold down equipment or sheet metal on the assembly line or during manufacturing processes.

Q. Which grease is ideal for Destaco clamps for their rebuilding?

A. A coupling grease like Mobil XTC should be used when dealing with Destaco mechanical clamps, while the Magnalube G grease is great for use with pneumatic cylinder seals.

Q. What is the significance of the red colour of the handle of Destaco clamps?

A. There is no such significance of colour of the clamp's handle, as it only represents a recognisable area. This helps operators in finding the handle quickly & easily.

Q. Does Raptor Supplies offer replacement spindles for hold down clamps?

A. Yes, Raptor Supplies provides Destaco spindles for hold down clamps, to replace worn out units and protect from damage caused by abrasion / twisting / flexing.

Q. What does clamping force mean?

A. Clamping force is the amount of force actually applied to a workpiece by closing & locking the clamp. It is normally less than the stated holding capacity. The actual clamping force depends on various factors, including cylinder bore, cylinder area, spindle position (clamping arm length) and available air pressure. In most cases, the clamping force is approximately 2 to 3 times the force exerted by a pneumatic cylinder.

Q. What is the difference between a vertical & horizontal toggle clamp?

A. The difference lies in the positioning of the clamp handle when the clamp is in the locked position. A vertical clamp handle is positioned vertically (perpendicular to the base) when in the locked position, while in the case of a horizontal toggle clamp, it is positioned horizontally (parallel to the base).
