Frequently Asked Questions

How do I remove bolts with a shallow head from a workpiece?

If the bolts can not be removed using extractor sockets, use drill bits available in selected bolt extraction sets for drilling / tapping out the bolts.

How to remove a bolt stuck or jammed inside a workpiece?

Bolts having a sufficient amount of head can not be removed from the workpiece as these bolts get stuck inside the workpiece material. Users should use penetrating oil to lubricate the edges of the bolt before trying again.

Can Irwin bolt extractor sets be used to remove all fasteners?

No, sockets available in these Irwin bolt extractor sets attach to only those fasteners or bolts that have their part of the fastener partially or fully exposed.
