Electronic Flowmeters

Electronic flowmeters are used to measure the volume or mass of liquid, gas or vapour passing through food processing equipment or plumbing lines. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of these electronic flowmeters from brands like Dayton, Fill-rite, Flomec and GPI. GPI flowmeters feature a turbine capable of delivering flow rates within the range of 3 – 30 GPM (10 – 100 LPM) and facilitate direct mounting on the nozzle for easy reading. These compact and lightweight flowmeters have an aluminium housing for withstanding impact loads and further come equipped with a nylon rotor, ceramic bearings, a tungsten carbide shaft and a 4-digit LCD screen.
The Flomec flowmeters have a positive displacement design that allows direct volumetric measurement and remains unaffected by changes in temperature, pressure or viscosity – factors which can cause measurement errors in other flowmeter technologies. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of these flowmeters available in pressure rating options of 50 PSI, 150 PSI, 285 PSI, 580 PSI and 1500 PSI.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which type of flow meters are most precise?

Coriolis mass flow meters are precise for most liquids but are usually expensive. They have the benefit of not requiring any knowledge about the fluid being carried.

What is the expected life of a flow meter?

In applications like subsea oil / gas production, flow meters usually have a life expectancy of 25 years. Whereas in other applications, a simple disposable device with a one to two year lifespan is acceptable.

What are the points to be considered before choosing any flow meter?

The media being measured is one of the most important criteria while choosing a flow meter. Conductivity, temperature, pressure, and viscosity can affect certain flow meters. How clean or dirty the water is may also impact the type and style of the meter.
