Q. What does 'initial set' of concrete imply?

A. The initial set is the partially hydrated, semi-hardened condition of concrete, beyond which it cannot be consolidated by vibration.

Q. What is the psi resistance test?

A. The PSI resistance test is used to determine the hardness of concrete. It considers the effects of variables including cement, temperature, additions, mixture proportions and admixtures upon the time of hardening and setting of concrete.
