MIG welders work on the same mechanism as TIG or arc welding. It works on the fundamental principle of heat generation due to the electric arc. This heat is further employed to melt base plate metal and consumable electrode, making a robust joint. The protected gases are also supplied through the nozzle that secures the weld zone from other reactive gases. It provides a fine surface finish and a powerful joint.
A. A duty cycle or power cycle is the bit of one period in which a system is involved. Hobart MIG welder has a 20% duty cycle rated output.
A. It can weld thin materials (up to 1/4 inch) in a single pass and thicker materials with multiple passes.
A. Yes, it can be plugged into a regular wall outlet (max 140A).
