Destaco 5150-MR heavy duty straight line action clamp ensures precise clamping and is ideal for high production applications in the aerospace, automotive and food and packaging industries. It is used to apply clamping force sideways rather than from the top, to secure workpieces in limited space applications. The clamp allows the attached handles to fall below the mounting plane to lock in the retracted position. This straight line clamp has a low profile, compact design for single part & mass production of fixtures and can accommodate loads up to 5800 lb. It features robust construction for extended life & durability, and has a carbon steel body with black oxide finish for structural rigidity & strength. The straight line action clamp is ideal for welding, light machining and assembly fixturing applications and is compatible with hex head spindles for workholding, automation and containment solutions. The clamp comes with a lever handle that engages the plunger, which presses against a workpiece to hold it in place. It is configured with a square plunger to deliver positive radial location and reverse action (the handle rotates backward as the plunger advances, to keep the handle away from the work zone). This 5150-MR clamp comes with hardened bushings and steel pivot pins to ensure prolonged service life and the attached handles can open up to 125 degrees. It has a flanged base that can be easily mounted to a worktable or flat surface. It comes with the Toggle Lock Plus mechanism to ensure that the over-centre locking condition is maintained and protected against unintentional opening.
Destaco 5150-MR heavy duty straight line action clamp offers a broad combination of features, making it adaptable for applications such as welding fixtures, assembling fixtures and light machining in the aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries.
This Destaco 5150-MR heavy duty straight line action clamp is ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified.
A. No, Destaco clamp handle colours do not offer any real significance. They basically help the operators recognise where the operating handle is, and when or where it should be grabbed while clamping workpieces.
A. In general, Destaco handle grips can be detached by sliding them off. However, some grips would have to be cut off as they are vinyl dipped to fit the contour of the underlying handle design.
A. Besides hex head spindles, Raptor Supplies also offers Destaco flat tip bonded spindles, swivel foot spindles and round bonded spindles.
A. Yes, these Destaco spindles are also available in Type 303 stainless steel variants to provide corrosion-free performance with enhanced service life. Request a quote for these spindles on Raptor Supplies.
A. A coupling grease like Mobil XTC should be used when dealing with Destaco mechanical clamps, while the Magnalube G grease is great for use with pneumatic cylinder seals.
A. The clamp's holding capacity or holding force signifies the capability of a clamp to hold down mechanical equipment or sheet metal during automotive part assembling or similar manufacturing processes.
A. Clamping force is the amount of force actually applied to the workpiece by closing & locking the clamp. It is normally less than the stated holding capacity. The actual clamping force depends on various factors, including cylinder bore, cylinder area, spindle position (clamping arm length) and available air pressure. In most cases, the clamping force is approximately 2 to 3 times the force exerted by a pneumatic cylinder.
