Product Details:

Bussmann JJS-60 non-indicating fuse is used in electrical systems to safeguard components from excessive currents. This fuse lacks visual indicators but is vital for protection against overloads or short circuits. It is used in industrial machinery, power distribution units and control panels. This fuse offers reliable circuit interruption to prevent equipment damage or fires.

Working Mechanism:

  • During normal operation, the electrical current flows through the fuse's conductive element (usually a thin metal strip) without any issues. The element is designed to carry the rated current of the circuit safely. If an overcurrent event occurs due to a short circuit or overload in the circuit, the current passing through the fuse increases beyond its rated capacity.
  • As the current exceeds the fuse's rating, the conductive element begins to heat up. This heating is a result of the Joule heating effect, where the resistance of the element causes it to generate heat proportional to the square of the current.
  • As the element heats up, it reaches a critical temperature. Once this temperature is surpassed, the element melts due to the increased energy. This melting process is intentional and controlled.
  • When the element melts, it creates an open circuit in the path of the current flow. This effectively interrupts the current and prevents it from continuing through the circuit.
  • By interrupting the current, the fuse protects the connected electrical equipment, components and wiring from the potentially damaging effects of excessive current. This can include preventing fires, equipment damage, or hazards to personnel.

Features:

  • Bussmann JJS-60 non-indicating Limitron fuse has 200kAIC at 600VAC interrupt rating for quickly breaking the circuit during faults, effectively containing potential damage.
  • This Bussmann non-indicating T-Tron fuse has a ferrule end to ferrule end connection that enhances ease of installation.
  • It can be operated at voltages up to 600VAC and has amperage rating of 60A.
  • This Bussmann JJS-60 fuse features melamine construction for heat resistance and durability.
  • It has single element design for rapid response of the fuse to overcurrent conditions, minimising potential damage.

Compatible Accessories:

  • Bussmann T60060-3CR Fuse Block: This fuse box is a fitting companion for non-Indicating fuse, ensuring secure and efficient installation in electrical systems.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. What does 'non-Indicating' mean for Bussmann JJS-60 fuse?

A. It lacks a built-in visual indicator to show its status, requiring manual inspection to determine its condition.

Q. How do I know if Bussmann JJS-60 non-Indicating fuse has tripped and needs replacement?

A. Since it's non-indicating, manual inspection is necessary; if the element is melted, replacement is required for continued protection.

Q. How can I test if the fuse is still functional?

A. To test the functionality of the fuse, use multimeter to check for continuity or measure its resistance.
