Product Details:

Bernzomatic TS8000 torch is ideal for large diameter soldering, light brazing, woodworking and cooking applications in manufacturing & maintenance industries. It is compatible with MAP-Pro and propane fuels that are burnt using oxygen to produce a flame to join workpieces.

Working Mechanism:

  • Turn the ignition knob to the locked position and ensure that the regulator valve is turned off by clockwise turning.
  • Point the torch burn tip away from persons or flammable materials and then thread the gas cylinder into this torch.
  • Check all connections periodically to prevent loose connections.
  • Open the regulator valve completely by counter clockwise turning the flame adjustment knob. Turn the ignition button to unlock the position and depress the ignition button. Keep it depressed and then adjust the flame size by turning the flame regulating knob. Press the flame lock button to fix the flame setting.
  • After the flame is not required, pull the ignition button to release the flame lock button and then, turn the ignition button to the locked position.
  • Close the regular valve and then remove the cylinder from the torch. Pull the ignition button in the disconnected torch to release gas in the torch.
  • Store the cylinders in well ventilated areas with temperatures not exceeding 120 degrees F.

Features:

  • Bernzomatic TS8000 torch is equipped with an instant On / Off ignition button and flame lock option for extra control during continuous use and to prevent wastage & injury.
  • It is pressure regulated even during inverted application for consistent performance.
  • This torch has an adjustable knob for achieving ultra-swirl flame to solder workpieces with maximum heat output.
  • It has cast aluminium construction for durability and structural strength.
  • This torch has a female NPT connection for connecting to fuel cylinder.
  • It has a minimum solder size of 1/4 inch ( using MAP-Pro) or 1/8 inch (using propane) and a maximum solder size of 4 inches (using MAP-Pro).
  • It can silver braze upto 1 inch using both fuels.

  • Bernzomatic 333668 MAP/Pro Cylinder: These MAP-Pro cylinders are suitable for quick soldering of large workpieces in high-temperature applications.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. What is the main difference between a cutting torch and a soldering torch?

A. The main difference between a cutting torch and a soldering torch is its primary function. Cutting torches are used to cut metals into smaller pieces, whereas soldering torches are ideal for joining different metal pieces together. These torches can not be used interchangeably, so users should use the appropriate torches for their applications.

Q. How hot is the flame generated by Bernzomatic TS8000 torch?

A. Bernzomatic TS8000 torch can generate a flame with a maximum temperature of 3650 degrees F using MAP-Pro fuel and 3400 degrees F using propane fuel.

Q. What are the points to remember before operating a Bernzomatic TS8000 torch?

A.

  • Disconnect the fuel cylinder when not in use to prevent accidental wastage.
  • Operaters should wear proper protective equipment like safety glasses & protective gloves to handle hot workpieces without any injury.
  • Users should make sure that the connections are tight and deliver proper fuel amounts.

Q. How to choose the right fuel gas for use in Bernzomatic TS8000 torch?

A. Users should choose the right fuel gas for Bernzomatic torches based on parameters like application requirements, material properties, solder size, heating capacity and fuel gas cost / availability. Each fuel gas should be tested over a set period to compare its efficiency and overall cost.
