Sandpiper double diaphragm pumps (also called AODD pumps) are operated by air / natural gas and used for transporting sludges, slurries, abrasives and shear sensitive fluids. The air pressure in these pumps acts along the entire surface of the diaphragm, keeping it balanced while pumping, that substantially extends pump life as compared to that of mechanically operated diaphragm pumps. Ideal for on-demand intermittent jobs, these AODD pumps can be safely dry ran & deadheaded without causing any damage to the pump or system. Self-priming and high vacuum capable, Sandpiper pumps can continuously pump fluids even if situated out of the pit and offer a maximum suction lift of 9.8 m. Also, their flooded suction feature allows for outdoor mounting of the pump & is mostly preferred for pumping viscous fluids. As they are safely submersible and utilise compressed air as their power source rather than electricity, these pumps are suitable for use in hazardous areas. Offering flow rates of 4, 42, 106 and 135 GPM, Sandpiper double diaphragm pumps are available in both NPT and flange-type connections. A screened inlet option is available for making the filtration process more efficient when the pumps are submerged under water, where sediments and debris are very common.
