101 Series Zinc Plated Steel 2 Ear Clamps

Oetiker 101 Series ear clamps are medium-pressure clamps made from anti-corrosive, zinc-plated steel to offer increased clamping range as compared to standard ear clamps. They feature a double-ear design for extra grip and providing constant pressure around the hose, thereby making them suitable for handling thermal and vibrational expansion or contraction. These units deliver a degree of elasticity owing to thermal expansion or vibration, to accommodate changes in the size of the components or parts being joined. They ensure a positive and tamper resistant seal and have one piece configuration. The visible deformation of these ear clamps provides evidence of their proper closure. Oetiker zinc plated ear clamps have deburred edges to prevent damage to the hose and are available in thicknesses of 0.02, 0.024, 0.026, 0.47 and 0.49 inches. Raptor Supplies is a trusted supplier of Oetiker clamps.

Working Mechanism

  • These ear clamps, with an oval protrusion, are placed in the ear space (over the end of the tube or hose) and are closed with a pincer tool for bridging & sealing the ear gap tightly.
  • They also ensure uniform compression force around the overall circumference of the clamp.
  • Owing to the specific geometry of these ear clamps, the clamping force rises and creates a spring during the expansion & contraction of the hose material. This is in response to thermal or mechanical influences such as temperature, vibration, etc.
  • The burrs generated during forming and shearing can be entirely removed via a barrel finishing operation.

Features

  • These thin-wall insert rings feature deburred edges to protect the clamped hose from damages
  • The one-piece configuration of these ear clamps guarantees a positive and tamper-resistant seal.
  • They are flexible enough to deliver a degree of elasticity owing to thermal expansion or vibration, thereby accommodating changes in the size of the components or parts being joined.
  • They are available in thicknesses of 0.02, 0.024, 0.026, 0.47 & 0.49 inches and band widths ranging from 0.138 inches to 0.394 inches.
  • The visible deformation of these ear clamps provides evidence of their proper closure.

Compatible Accessories

  • Oetiker HMK 01 / S01: These manual ear clamp pincer tools have clamping jaws sitting straight on the pliers (HMK 01) or on the side of the pliers (HMK S01); ideal for use in constrained spaces.
  • Oetiker HO 3000 ME: These pneumatic ear clamp pincers feature a pistol grip and can deliver a maximum squeezable closing force of 3000 N.
  • Oetiker CP 01: These cordless clamp pincers offer quick, flexible and effortless installation of the Oetiker 101 Series clamps. They ensure excellent manoeuvrability and high accuracy in tight spaces.
  • Oetiker HO 3000 EL & HO 4000 EL: These electronically controlled pincers are designed to provide uniform clamp closure.

Standards and Approvals

  • DIN EN ISO 9227
  • UNS S30403 (Unified Numbering System)

  • IATF 16949:2016
  • ISO 9001:2015

Frequently Asked Questions

How do we tighten a clamp?

To tighten a clamp, squeeze the clamp with one hand so that the end opposite the driver slides into the sleeve holding. Then, turn the driver clockwise with a wrench or screwdriver so that the threads present on the driver engage the slots on the clamp. Continue turning the driver until the clamp tightens around the hose tightly and securely.

How to measure the size of an ear clamp?

Simply analyse and measure the outer diameter (OD) of the hose installed on fitting. Then, choose a hose clamp in such a way that the outer diameter of the hose is approximately in the middle of the clamping range of the clamp.

Are Oetiker clamps reusable?

Raptor Supplies also offers Oetiker stepless low profile clamps that are reusable in nature. They can be opened and installed multiple times and can be mounted both radially & axially. Oetiker's low profile, universal, screw & profile clamps are also reusable in nature.

How do you remove an Oetiker clamp?

Tools like a rotating or bowl nose cutter or side cutter can be used for removing Oetiker clamps. However, rotating cutters are not recommended as they might tamper or damage the hose while cutting the clamp.

What is the difference between 1 and 2 ear clamps?

Oetiker 2 ear clamps have a larger clamping range as compared to 1 ear clamps. These 2 ear clamps offer high clamping force and create a spring effect during contraction and extension of the hose.

What types of clamps does Oetiker offer?

Oetiker offers a wide range of clamps including screw, ear, spring, wire, worm gear and plastic clamps.

How to properly position a hose clamp?

Ear hose clamps come in a variety of shapes, styles and sizes. Most of them follow the same guidelines for proper placement on a hose / tube / pipe fitting. Once the hose is pressed securely onto the mating part, position the hose clamp toward the end of the hose, with approximately 1/4 inch space between the clamp and the end of the hose.
