Working Mechanism

  • These lock wires are installed on fasteners using a double-twist or single-wire application method.
  • In general applications, the double twist formation is used by twisting two strands of wire together inside the fasteners.
  • Single-wire or single-strand formation is applicable with fasteners that are closely spaced, such as in electrical systems.
  • The wire should be pulled / tensioned in the tightening direction.
  • After the wire is wound around the fasteners, their ends should be crimped & bent to prevent loosening of tension.
  • Now, these safety wirings will prevent the fasteners from loosening by counteracting it with tightening.
