Working Mechanism

  • During an earth fault, the residual current circuit breaker continuously detects and contrasts any differences in the current between the live and neutral wires (residual current value).
  • The residual current circuit breaker will trip if there is even a slight difference in the numbers, cutting off the circuit.

Features

  • Eaton xEffect FRCmM-NA RCCBs feature Type A and Type G/A capable of sensing residual pulsating DC offering surge current-proof of 250A and 3kA respectively.
  • They come with a unique test button 'T' to automatically test the function of residual current circuit breakers (RCCB) themselves.
  • These RCCBs devices further feature independent line voltage tripping and operation temperature range of -25 to 40 degrees C.
  • They offer delayed tripping suitable with conventional fluorescent tubes, irrespective of whether electronic ballast is present or not.
  • These circuit breakers provide a tripping indicator and a contact position indicator for additional safety.

Standards and Approvals

  • IEC
  • EN 61008
  • UL

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the rated short circuit capacity of Eaton xEffect FRCmM-NA RCCBs?

5kA (according to CSA)

What is the rated tripping current of these residual current breakers?

30 / 300mA

How do we connect an FRCmM-NA residual current device?

  • RCCB is connected parallel to the miniature circuit breaker (MCB) into the distribution boards.
  • The phase is connected in parallel with the MCB and the neutral connection is done with neutral lines.
