Working Mechanism

  • These circuit breakers feature a thermal and magnetic mechanism to detect and interrupt faulty currents.
  • The thermal element (bi-metallic strip) responds to prolonged overcurrents by monitoring the heat generated by the current flowing through the circuit breaker.
  • The magnetic element (electromagnet) responds to sudden, large overcurrents by monitoring the magnetic field generated by the current.
  • If the temperature exceeds a certain threshold, thermal and magnetic elements will trip and open the circuit.

Features

  • They utilise a combination of thermal and magnetic elements to trip the breaker in the event of overcurrent conditions.
  • They are integrated with DIN rail mounting for securely attaching the breakers and feature a compact design for easy maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • These breakers are rated up to 100A with interrupting capacity of 14kA at 277V, suitable for loadcentres, panelboards, switchboards and pool panels.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I operate the breaker manually?

Yes, the GHQ Series circuit breakers can be manually operated by switching the handle (present in the centre of the circuit breaker) in the ON or OFF position.

Can I reset my circuit breaker once it is tripped?

The circuit breaker can be reset by moving the circuit breaker handle to the extreme OFF position.

How to install the circuit breaker?

  • Check the circuit breaker for damage before mounting.
  • Ensure that the power is off and that the circuit breaker is switched to the OFF position.
  • Remove the panelboard front trim.
  • Remove the breaker's line-end retaining screw from the bus bar.
  • Position the circuit breaker's load-end retaining recess under the hook mounting rail.
  • Secure the line-end conductor to bus bar with the screw provided.
  • After installing the circuit breaker, connect the load terminals and accessory leads.
  • Install panelboard front trim.
  • Test the circuit breaker for proper functioning.
