Working Mechanism

  • The non-reversing starter controls the direction of rotation by controlling the direction of the current flow through the motor's windings.
  • When the starter is in the forward position, current flows through the motor in one direction, causing it to rotate in the clockwise direction.
  • When the starter is in the reverse position, the current in the motor flows in the opposite direction, causing the device to rotate in a counterclockwise direction.
  • The circuit breaker features a bi-metallic strip that monitors the current flow and trips when the current exceeds the rated value.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are NEMA enclosures?

NEMA enclosures are protective coverings designed to protect electrical equipment from environmental factors, such as dust, water, oil and other corrosive materials.

What are control power transformers?

Control power transformers are used in conjunction with combination non-reverse starters to step down the voltage of the main power supply to a safe level, making them useful for industrial machinery and equipment.
