Working Mechanism

  • Circuit breakers get triggered when faulty current flows through the system.
  • The trip coil gets energised and moves away from each other.
  • This repulsion opens the circuit.

Features

  • Eaton moulded case circuit breakers have MDL-frames and non-interchangeable tips, making them suitable for reversible feed use.
  • They have an electronic LS-type trip to save equipment from overloads.
  • These three-pole units have an interrupt rating of 65kAIC at 480V.

Standards and Approvals

  • UL

Frequently Asked Questions

Can circuit breakers be used again once tripped?

Circuit breakers can be reset by turning them off and then back on for reuse.

Does temperature affect circuit breakers?

Extreme heat can trip the breaker even when there is no overload in the circuit. The heat causes the bimetallic strip inside the circuit breaker to flex, eventually touching a contact to trip the breaker.

Can humidity trip a breaker?

When moisture corrodes wiring and other electrical contacts, short-circuit occurs. Humidity causes a current increase in the circuit which trips the circuit breaker.
