Arc-resistant enclosures are designed to allow the safe dissipation of energy from an electric arc. They offer steel construction to withstand the mechanical forces generated by an arc blast and prevent them from deformation or damage. They also have special coating that prevents the spread of fire in case of an arc fault. They are ideal for critical applications, such as power generation, substations and other high-risk areas where the presence of an electrical arc fault is high.
A protection relay is used to protect electrical equipment and power system from damage due to faults or current inrush. When such abnormal conditions are detected, the relay sends a signal to trip a breaker or open a switch, disconnecting the equipment or system from the power source.
Vacuum contactors are used in high-voltage power transmission and distribution systems, where high current or voltage is present. These contactors use a vacuum to insulate the contacts from the surrounding atmosphere. They are controlled by an electromagnet, which when energised, attracts an armature to close the contactor and, when de-energised, releases the armature to open the contactor again.
