Features

  • They feature a fan control unit that allows controlling the SVX9000 / SPX9000's cooling fans. Four user-controlled fan settings (CONTINOUS, TEMPERATURE, FIRST START and CALC TEMP) are available for running the fan to the preferred need.
  • They also feature a default RUN state that allows these fans to run continuously, regardless of the setting.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a DC fan?

Eaton cooling fans are suitable to be controlled by DC power as they require very little start-up torque and present a smooth increase in load as the speed is increased.

What is the purpose of the Temperature setting in Eaton cooling fans?

Temperature setting is based on the temperature of the unit. The fan (in such cases) is switched on automatically when the heatsink temperature reaches 60 degrees C. The fan receives a stop command when the heatsink temperature falls to 55 degrees C. However, the fan keeps running for about a minute after receiving the stop command or switching on the power, as well as after changing the value from 'Continous' to 'Temperature'.

What is the First Start function of the cooling fan?

After the power-up command, the fan comes to a stop until the run command is given, making the fan run continuously. It is mainly done in common DC bus systems for preventing cooling fans to load charging resistors at the power-up moment.
