Product Details:

Milwaukee 6880 nibbler employs a punch and a die for precise radius cuts in steel or corrugated metal. It is frequently used to cut ribbed roofing & siding, remove damaged parts of material and produce holes in ducts in HVAC, mechanical, metallurgy, ironworking, automotive and metal cutting applications.

Working Mechanism:

  • Nibblers operate by exerting pressure with a single blade, often upward.
  • A narrow channel is formed by the rails on either side of the blade.
  • A small metal is taken out when the blade pushes the material through the channel.
  • To cut flat, corrugated or uneven sheet metal, this corded nibbler makes numerous tiny holes in the material.
  • Then it starts with cuts in the centre or at the edges of the material.

Features:

  • Milwaukee 6880 nibbler is a corded machine (with 8 feet cord length) that has no batteries to recharge, thus saving time. It allows long run times for repeated jobs while maintaining full power during the operation.
  • This single-speed unit includes a barrel grip side handle and a hex wrench for comfortable handling & easy tightening, respectively.
  • It features an AC DC toggle switch with a lock-off and lock-on feature for two-handed operation.
  • This heavy product is capable of delivering 1000 strokes per minute at 120VAC / 120VDC and 4A current rating.
  • It comes with a trigger throttle for controlling speeds.

Compatible Accessories:

  • Milwaukee 26FN63 & 26FP27: These brush springs (26FN63) and cord protectors (26FP27) are power tool parts for replacing broken, worn or missing parts. They ensure that equipment is running efficiently to preserve production.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. What is the difference between nibblers and shears?

A.

  • The nibblers, also known as nibbling cutters, leave shavings & rough edges, yet can cut round angles and curves more precisely than shears.
  • Nibblers accurately cut through the sheet metal without causing any damage to the workpiece and are ideal for cutting small channels, sections, corrugated sheets and tubes. Whereas, shears, in contrast, provide straight cuts & slight curves, ideal for brass, aluminium, copper and lead materials.
  • Unlike shears, nibblers are simple to use in locations that are hard to access.

Q. How thick of metal can a nibbler cut?

A. This nibbler provides cutting capacity up to 10 gauge in steel and 12 gauge into stainless steel.

Q. How heavy is this Milwaukee 6880 nibbler?

A. It weighs around 7.8 lb.
