Sheet metal screws are designed to cut through sheets to fasten or attach them to metal or a surface. They feature sharp threads and a pointed tip for easy penetration and secure fastening. Sheet metal screws have a sharper and more aggressive thread design as compared to regular screws. They are self-tapping and come in both Imperial and Metric sizes.
Self-tapping sheet metal screws have a specially designed tip that allows them to create their own threads in the material as they are driven in. This feature eliminates the need for pre-drilling holes, making installation faster and more convenient.
Sheet metal screws are designed specifically for use with thin metal sheets. They feature sharp, self-tapping threads for easy penetration and secure fastening. Wood screws, on the other hand, are designed for use with wood only. They have coarse threads & a tapered point for gripping the wood fibres and pulling the screw into the material.
The cutting threads of sheet metal screws offer superior holding power in wood and thin metals. Push them into the substance until the head is parallel to the surface.
