Frequently Asked Questions

How do you fill Enerpac hand pump oil?

  • Remove the fill plug from the reservoir.
  • Fill the reservoir only to the level marked on the pump.
  • Make sure to use only approved hydraulic fluid.

What will happen if there is air trapped in the hydraulic system?

When air contaminates a hydraulic fluid, the pump's inlet cavitation, aeration or foaming can happen. Aeration degrades the hydraulic fluid, resulting in damage to the components of the system (due to loss of lubrication), thereby causing burning and overheating of the seals.

What are NPT or UNF port sizes?

The NPT connection is based on thread deformation and have a metal-to-metal sealing design where the threads of the connectors themselves form together. Whereas, the UNF (Unified National Fine) threads on ports have fine spacing that enables them to be less prone to loosen when vibrating.
