Working Mechanism

The AC flowing in the main winding produces an alternating magnetic field within the magnetic core.
The magnetic core then mutually generates an alternating current in the subsequent winding.
With low impedance, this transformer operates in a short circuit.
Consequently, the secondary winding's current is dependent on the main winding's current but independent of the load impedance.
