Working Mechanism

  • In the normal state, these circuit breakers allow current to flow through the circuit.
  • In this case, the current-carrying contacts come into contact with one another.
  • When this device detects a ground fault, the contacts move apart and trip the circuit.

Features

  • Eaton CHB-Series thermal magnetic circuit breakers have standard box lug terminals to accommodate copper and aluminium wires of sizes 14 to 8 AWG.
  • Selected models have an internal common trip connection to operate all poles simultaneously.
  • They have a thermal-magnetic trip to avoid nuisance tripping during mild overloads but react instantly to severe short circuits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the difference between a circuit breaker and a fuse?

A. A circuit breaker has an internal switch that trips when there is excess current, whereas a fuse is a metal piece that melts when the excess current overloads the circuit.

Q. What is the interrupt rating of these circuit breakers?

A. 10kAIC.

Q. How to install these circuit breakers?

A.

  • Remove the panel cover using a screwdriver.
  • Connect the neutral and ground wires.
  • Place the breaker inside and screw the cover back to the panel.
