Arc Thermal Protective Value (ATPV) indicates the maximum incident energy (in calories per square centimetre) that protective equipment can handle before risking a second-degree burn or greater injury.
Arc flash is a dangerous condition produced by the massive energy release due to an electrical arc. Electrical arcs can generate due to conditions like electrical circuit failure or breakdowns, overload and accidental current contacts. These explosive conditions generate temperatures up to 35,000 degrees F to melt the copper line and rapidly expand the arc area from the source. Workers in the vicinity are at serious risk of injury or death because of factors, such as superheated plasma, the molten copper, fragments of damaged equipment and the overall arc spreading force / speed. The effects of an arc flash can be prevented if workers are properly protected.
Salisbury Electrical manufactures protective equipment & gear for electrical workers serving in the electrical & utility industries.
All Salisbury tools and products, including switchboard mats, grounding equipment, rescue tools & voltage detectors are NFPA 70E, ASTM and OSHA certified for user safety & superior performance.
Salisbury Electrical gloves are generally made of rubber, leather and other materials for electrical insulation & protection, even in wet conditions.
Yes, Salisbury Electrical gloves are compatible with other personal protective equipment for complete electrical protection.
Salisbury Electrical gloves should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and other sources of heat & ozone. Users should inspect the gloves before each use and replace them if they show signs of wear or damage.
Salisbury Electrical gloves should be cleaned using a mild soap & water solution and then air dried. Users should avoid using solvents or harsh chemicals that may damage the gloves.
