About John Guest

The John Guest Fittings catalogue includes water supply stops, push-to-connect tube fittings, check and foot valves, connectors and stop valve adapters. Push-fit check valves by John Guest are widely used to facilitate liquid flow in one direction and to prevent backflow of liquid. These Super Speedfit Acetal single check valves are suitable for use with polyethylene, nylon, polyurethane, brass, copper and mild steel tubing. They can withstand a maximum water pressure of 150 psi and can easily operate at temperatures up to 167 degrees Fahrenheit. The company also offers fixed elbows suitable for potable liquids and pure water applications. These 90-degree connectors are ideal for use in tight spaces and feature acetal copolymer construction for maximum durability and corrosion resistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is cross-linking PEX tubing?

The PEX tubing undergoes a cross-linking process which enhances the material's properties, making it resistant to heat, pressure and chemical degradation.

How to connect / disconnect a ProLock fitting to a pipe?

  • Cut the pipe using a copper pipe cutter. Remove all burrs and sharp edges.
  • Insert the pipe fully into the fitting.
  • Turn the locking cap clockwise (in 90 degrees) to lock the position. The correct position can be determined by the audible click and the indicator marks.
  • To disconnect, depressurise the system and turn the locking cap quarter turn in an anti-clockwise direction. Now, depress the collet against the fitting and remove the pipe.

What is the use of water supply stops?

Water supply stops, also known as shut-off valves are devices used to control the flow of water. They include a handle that is used to control the flow of water or isolate the supply to a specific zone. These stops are commonly made of acetal, brass or stainless steel.
