Working Mechanism

  • These pumps work intermittently and are equipped with a tank or reservoir that can store condensate.
  • The flow of hot, humid air is regulated through the cooling coil which generates condensation on the surface of the coil.
  • The resultant condensate flows into the drain pipe and collects into the condensate tank.
  • This process continues until the fluid level touches the tank's top level. A float switch is equipped with a condensate pump that turns on the pump motor operation at this moment.
  • At this stage, the pump starts pumping the accumulated water into a drain pipe until the fluid leaves space in the tank to collect more condensate.
  • This condensate water is then transferred outside of the building through the discharge pipe.

Features

  • They come with a ball bearing motor design to protect from steam and water splashes and also eliminate the need for lubrication.
  • They incorporate a stainless steel float that automatically detects high-level water and removes condensate quickly from the tank.
  • They feature a thermally protected motor to cool the motor due to excessive heat generation and protect critical components.
  • These units offer discharge heads up to 20 feet and a maximum flow rate of 185 gallons/hr.
  • They also come with a 6-foot power cord to easily position the pump and multiple inlet options for quick connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What are plenum rated condensate pumps?

A. Plenum rated condensate pumps are designed for air-handling space, which means that they won't give off excessive heat or smoke in the event of a fire.

Q. What is the purpose of a safety auxiliary switch?

A. Safety auxiliary switches are designed for indicating the status of condensate level in the tank and to prevent the drain pan from overflowing. The switch is activated when the water level rises and comes above a certain point, causing the switch mechanism to trip.

Q. What is the reservoir made of?

A. The reservoir is made of solid cast aluminium for reliable protection in high temperature conditions. Also, this material offers excellent abrasion, corrosion and scratch resistance.
