Description

Stanley Proto torque multipliers are designed to deliver high mechanical advantages to ensure that the threaded fasteners are properly tightened. These multipliers feature a single-stage planetary gear system offering effective multiplication ratios up to 6:33:1 to transfer the largest torque in the most compact and accurate setups. They come in a maximum rated input of 200 ft lb (271 Nm) and a maximum rated output of 1200 ft lb (1626 Nm). Choose from a wide range of these Proto torque multipliers, available in standard +/- 5% of reading torque accuracy, on Raptor Supplies.

Working Mechanism

  • These torque multipliers have a handle & torque multiplying head arrangement.
  • The handle is fixed onto the head that is held in between the fastener and the socket end of the torque wrench.
  • These torque multipliers have internal gears that multiply the torque output with the minimal manual force.

Features

  • These torque multipliers have tubular reaction bars to prevent bending under heavy loads.
  • They have a 2 stage planetary gear system for delivering the torque to the fastener every 5 degrees increment of the torque multiplier.
  • They feature a self-contained, anti-backlash device for preventing the tightening tool from getting slashed.
  • Selected models have an overload protection feature to prevent heavy loads from damaging the unit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the difference between a torque multiplier and a torque wrench?

A. Torque wrenches require high manual force for fastening / loosening tight nuts & bolts, so they have long handles to provide the required leverage. That is the reason why torque wrenches are not suitable for tight spaces. Torque multipliers can deliver high torque with a minimum manual force and have small handles for use in confined spaces.

Q. What is the gear ratio of Proto torque multipliers?

A. These tools have different gear ratios. Selected models have the gear ratio set at 1:13.6.

Q. How accurate are Proto torque multipliers?

A. These torque multipliers have an accuracy rating of +/-5 percent.
