Q. What are the points to inspect before operating the circuit breaker?

• To maintain a clean environment around the circuit breaker, use an enclosure and remove any dust, dirt, grease, moisture or other contaminants.
• Check that the mechanical linkages, such as toggle actuators, are free to move by turning the unit ON and OFF several times.
• Perform a mechanical test of the circuit breaker by pressing the push-to-trip button located at the bottom of the unit, if it is optional.
• Inspect the unit for any signs of damage, such as cracks, chipping or discolouration and overheating.
• Tighten the terminals and connectors and examine the mounting hardware.
