• Eaton C Series moulded case circuit breaker frames are equipped with fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip mechanisms.
• The thermal trip consists of a bimetallic strip which gets heated and bends when an overcurrent passes through the conductors.
• This causes the contacts to open and interrupt the current flow.
• The magnetic trip has an electromagnetic component that detects the presence of short circuits in a circuit. As the current rises abruptly, a magnetic field is generated that causes the displacement of the plunger in the tripping coil, thus opening the contacts again.

Q. How do I reset my circuit breaker after it trips?

A.

• Turn off power to the breaker before resetting the MCCB to prevent the risk of electrical shock or injury.
• Press the reset button (located on the front of the beaker, near the handle) firmly. The beaker should click, indicating that it has reset.
• Turn the power back on.

Q. How to install an L-frame circuit breaker?

A.

• Inspect that the circuit breaker has all components and check for damage before mounting.
• Install the trip unit and rating plug, as well as accessories and terminals.
• Re-install cover and secure with pan-head screws provided.
• Torque the screws tightly.
• Mount the circuit breaker to the desired location.
• Connect the line & load conductors and torque terminals for a secure connection.

A. The entire breaker must be changed when the trip unit in non-interchangeable breakers needs to be replaced. While, in interchangeable breakers, only the trip unit needs to be replaced.
