Dwyer 460 is a high-precision air velocity & static pressure indicator designed on the principle of the variable area flowmeters. It is ideal for reading static pressure, determining duct air velocity and measuring grille velocity, furnace draft & pressure drop in HVAC systems.

Working Mechanism:

• As the meter is placed in the vertical position, air comes in through the outer of the two top connectors.
• The air then passes into the scale chamber and enters the tapered indicating tube at the bottom, causing the white plastic ball to lift.
• The height of the ball indicates static pressure or air velocity in the system.

• This air meter features rugged plastic construction to prevent breakage, a dual scale to show both low & high ranges and compact housing for easy portability.
• It provides a pressure range of 0.005 to 1 inch WC and flow range of 260 to 4000 FPM.

Q. How to read static pressure using this air meter?

A.

• Secure the angle connector to the air meter with tubing supplied.
• Hold the meter vertically, inserting angle connector in the unit under test. Read the pressure in inches of water on appropriate high and low range scale.
• For accurate static pressure measurements in ducts, select a location where the duct faces parallel to the air stream and drill a 1/4 inch opening. Secure supply grille probe to the angle connector and place it over the opening permitting as little leakage as possible.
