Vertical hold down clamps use movement of a straight handle (positioned perpendicular to the base in locked position) to push the clamping arm or attached spindle against workpieces for secure clamping. These manual clamps are ideal for applications requiring repeated clamping / detaching of workpieces throughout the operations. Destaco 7-60 vertical hold down clamp is used for holding down workpieces against flat surfaces in woodworking, light machining, metalworking, manufacturing & closure operations. This manual clamp has carbon steel construction for heavy duty applications and preventing bending / breaking under heavy loads. It is equipped with a solid clamping bar that can be cut, welded or modified to handle diverse application requirements. This cam action clamp accommodates workpieces with variable thicknesses to prevent frequent changing of clamps while keeping them stationary throughout the operation. It offers a maximum load holding capacity of 1600 lb. This clamp has flange base for securely mounting to flat, horizontal surfaces / workpieces. Raptor Supplies also offers similar clamp variants having holding capacities of 475, 600 and 1000 lb.
Destaco 7-60 vertical hold down clamp is suitable for welding, assembly, testing and light machining operations in aerospace, consumer goods, transportation, automotive and food & packaging industries.
A. Raptor Supplies offers similar manual clamps having holding capacities of 475 lb, 600 lb and 1000 lb.
A. Vertical hold down clamps are manually operated using a vertical handle / lever to move the clamping arm. This handle movement pushes the clamping arm or the attached spindle against the workpiece and prevents it from moving mid-operation, thereby ensuring secure clamping.
A. The difference between a vertical & horizontal toggle clamp lies in the locking position of the clamp handle. A vertical clamp handle is vertically oriented or perpendicular to the base when in a locked position, whereas the horizontal toggle clamp is horizontally oriented or parallel to the base.
A. The holding capacity or holding force represents the capability of a clamp to hold down mechanical equipment or sheet metal while assembling automotive parts or during manufacturing processes.
A. Clamping force or exerting force refers to the actual force that the clamp exerts onto the workpiece for holding it. The holding force or capacity provides a measure of ideal strength of the clamp, measured during the manufacturing process. The clamping force is generally lesser than the holding capacity, depending upon several factors, such as position of the spindle in clamping bar and opposing force applied on the clamp.
A. A coupling grease like Mobil XTC is recommended to be used for rebuilding or maintenance of the mechanical clamps.
A. Yes, Destaco carbon steel clamps are zinc plated to withstand & minimise wear & tear due to harsh industrial environments. Destaco also supplies stainless steel clamps for applications requiring clamping in outdoor conditions.
A. No, Destaco clamps are load-rated only for clamping applications. They are not designed for hoisting or lifting applications.
A. Destaco can supply customised versions of clamps upon request. The customisations can range from a different colour of handles to the removal of the Destaco logo from the clamps.
